Indian Coast Guard Recruitment 2023: Selection Process

The Indian Coast Guard Assistant Commandant selection procedure consists of five steps. The specifics are provided below.

(a) Stage-I (CGCAT) – Stage-I is a computer-based screening test for qualified candidates that will be administered at various centres across India. Candidates applying for GD/CPL and Technical (Mechanical/Electrical and Electronics) positions will take a screening test. The screening test will include a maximum 400-mark MCQ format and 100 questions, with four marks awarded for each valid response and a deduction of one mark for each incorrect response. The exam will take two hours to complete and be administered in English.

(b) Primary Selection Board (PSB) in Stage-II Candidates will be chosen to take the Stage-II (PSB) examination, which will be held in centres in Noida, Mumbai, Goa, Chennai, and Kolkata, based on their performance in Stage-I. The PSB centre should be chosen by candidates when filling out the application. The Computerized Cognitive Battery Test (CCBT) and Picture Perception and Discussion will be used to screen candidates (PP&DT). CCBT will be objective type and exclusively available in English. During PP&DT, candidates are expected to communicate in English. They may, however, communicate in Hindi if they do not speak English. Stage-II examinations are only for qualifying purposes.

The schedule for Stage-III will be communicated to the candidate through personal login ID. On their individual login IDs, candidates will receive notification of their FSB call-up letter and reporting instructions. The Coast Guard Selection Board (CGSB), which is based in Noida, is where the final selection panel is held.
